8.6. Disposable packaging descriptors on freight papers must consist of codes in accordance with the following EDI Guide: VDA (German Association of the Automotive Industry) 4987. (If the ‟SLC cardboard boxes” described under item 8.5. are used, the respective load carrier numbers or container components of a load unit must be stated with the correct name.)8.7. Disposable packaging and inner packaging made of disposable materials shall be disposed (of) by the receiving plant. 8.8. For overall economic reasons as well as for ecological reasons, a receiving plant may agree standardised disposable packaging (SLC cardboard boxes) with the supplier as mandatory packaging. The party bearing the costs is either the sender (packaging condition SI) or the receiver (packaging condition SA, with an additional agreement on a B-price share). The packaging condition is documented dependent to relation in the delivery contract, depending on the agreement. The employed packaging shall be provided by the supplier.9. Handling of load carriers 9.1. Load carriers shall be provided or shipped in clean and ready-for-transit condition, i.e. any loose packaging remnants must have been removed. If the cleanliness of the load carriers does not fulfil the quality requirements of the material that is to be transported in them, the supplier shall carry out further cleaning actions at his own expense (e.g. washing of load carriers or providing adequate part-protection).9.2. Foldable load carriers are shipped in a folded condition during empty packaging transport. In individual cases, the sending plant may also ship them unfolded.9.3. The supplier has to make sure that the load carriers are not damaged during handling.9.4. The following rules must be observed when handling the load carriers:a. Load carriers may not be pushed around by forklift truck. b. The maximum stacking height of the load carriers must not be exceeded.c. Load carriers must be protected against dust, dirt and contamination.d. The handling and storage of load carriers must be carried out in a way to avoid contamination, corrosion and accidents (protected against the weather, ideally under a roofed area etc.). e. Misuse of load carriers is prohibited.
